Sailing module for experienced seafarers
General information
In the months of January, February, and March, we offer qualified and experienced seafarers the opportunity to obtain the KZV and GZV certificates of theory through a shortened course for experienced mariners.

Qualified and experienced seafarers
Admission requirements
To be admitted to the shortened training program, a valid Certificate of Competency is required. The following qualifications grant access to the program:
- Mate all ships
- Master, Chief Mate from 500 GT
- Mate or Maritime Officer diploma obtained within the last 5 years
- Watchkeeping standards A/B

Course content
The subjects included in the training program include:
Fore-and-aft and square riggings and modern applications of wind propulsion;
Propeller, rudder, watchkeeping, anchoring, heavy weather maneuvers, MOB maneuvers, IAMSAR procedures
Sailing ship design
Stability data, water displacement, displacement, law of center of gravity shift, list, free liquid surfaces, stability curve
Routing for square-rigged sailing ships
Ship lighting, collision regulations, behavior of ships in restricted visibility
BPR
Maritime laws and decrees, safety, position of the Master, employment contracts, working and rest hours, logbook
