ECDIS
General information
An ECDIS-training (Electronic Chart Display Information System) is compulsory for some seafarers.
From 2027 it will be a requirement for the issue of a Certificate of Proficiency ”Grote Zeilvaart”.
Are you a navigation officer on a sea-going vessel equipped with ECDIS? Then you need to follow this ECDIS training.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This course is in the development phase. Once it is complete, you will be able to enrol.
Who is the training intended for?
This certificate is mandatory for all navigation officers sailing on a ship equipped with ECDIS.
Admission requirements
None. Students and former students of the Enkhuizen Nautical College have priority.
Course content
The course lasts 3 days and the subjects that are covered are as follows:
- the principles van ECDIS;
- settings;
- chart updating;
- voyage preparation and execution.
The course ends with an assessment.
