Mission and vision
The school has a clear mission and vision.
Its mission is:
“To provide maritime education to everyone who is involved, whether professionally or not, in the seagoing commercial sailing trade”
And its vision is:
“To realize an international maritime education and knowledge center, where the emphasis lies on sustainability and the use of wind as propulsion.”
With the mission and vision of the maritime school in mind, we are always looking for innovations and improvements in education. We incorporate existing and new regulations into our curriculum. We follow new developments and ensure that appropriate education is provided for them.
The school and the environment
The Enkhuizen Nautical College largely uses its own generated electricity; the classrooms are equipped with energy-saving lighting which automatically turns off when no one is present.
Since 2015, we have been actively working on making our school plastic-free. We ask our students to limit the use of ‘single-use plastics’ as much as possible, just as we try to limit them as much as possible ourselves.
